ABOUT LIFE SKILLS
OUR MISSION
To help you build positive healthy relationships by bringing closure and healing to hurtful events, ending the cycle of abuse for men, women, and children.
WHAT WE OFFER
Working through the "Learning to Live, Learning to Love" curriculum developed by Paul Hegstrom, Bay Area Life Skills offers two phases of the program where you will learn tools and skills to help rebuild your life, self-image and relationships. Phase I is a 30 week course that meets once per week with separate classes for men and women. Phase II is approximately 20 months and continues deeper into the topics and tools learned in Phase I.
WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR LIFE SKILLS?
The basic premise of Life Skills is that we were all created to receive certain things in childhood as we developed and NOT receive some things. If we didn't get what we needed, or were abused, we become arrested in our development. This disables us from growing into the adults we were created to be. Life Skills helps us identify when we were arrested and provides the tools to "grow-up" those areas of our lives. This results in positive changes in anger management, conflict resolution, emotional bonding and healthy assertiveness.
